Buns in the Square 2023

For a second year, St Michael’s ‘pop up’ cafe serving buttered hot cross buns and hot drinks appeared in The Square, Amberley, on Good Friday. And once again the sun shone! A cheerful crowd of neighbours, families, visitors and dogs enjoyed the opportunity for a chat while the traditional buns, marked with a cross, reminded us of the significance of the day.

Thanks once again to Stella and John for use of the kitchen; to the buttering and serving team; to the Welfare Trust for use of the surgery for brewing drinks; and to Colin of Amberley Village Stores for providing discounted buns.

Though ‘Buns in the Square’ is mainly an event to bring the community together on an important day in the church calendar, it did also raise just under £200 for St Michael’s.
