The Magnard Ensemble

A lovely concert in a fabulous setting in aid of an important charity.   This is our third Summer Concert with an accomplished group performing intriguing music including Carl Nielsen’s Quintet No 43, the most famous of all pieces written for woodwind.  A recent commission by a Scottish composer is based on birdsong, in reality the song of endangered species.  Introductory interludes are spoken by the actress Yvette Byrne and the broadcaster Matthew Bannister.  Before the concert there will be a drinks reception in the lovely garden of North Stoke Farmhouse, next to St Mary’s Church, North Stoke BN18 9LS
