Film and Curry Night – The Man from Toronto

After receiving reave reviews for the delicious curry he prepared at the Roving Supper, Amberley’s churchwarden Michael Davey is expanding his voluntary skills and hosting a Film and Curry night on Thursday 23rd October.

Cosy up and enjoy Michael’s curry – plus a slice of Amberley life from the 1930’s in the form of a charming rom-com called The Man from Toronto. Filmed on location in Amberley in 1933, it stars the divine Jessie Matthews and the hilarious Ian Hunter and Fred Kerr – a real treat for classic movie buffs.

It also gives a fabulous insight into 1930’s rural Amberley and includes a village parade, complete with brass bands and floats.

The bar opens at 6.30m, with curry served at 7pm. The film starts at 8pm, with a running time of 1 hour and 17 minutes.

Ticket price £20 per person, including curry, a drink and the film.

email susan.watson10@gmail.com to book your tickets now – this event is likely to be a sellout!

Film shown by kind permission of Grahame Joseph.
