We are very grateful for the advice and enthusiastic support of historian Dr Robert Hutchinson, whose help in the preparation of the guides to St Michael’s has been invaluable.

Most of the photographs for the guides were taken especially for it by Dr Michael Beck.  His unfailing enthusiasm and willingness ‘to get the right shot’ has been the making of this guide.

The input from the geologists Roger Cordiner and Roger Birch on the building stones of St Michael’s has been hugely informative.  Joe Thompson ensured the accuracy of the description of the church’s roof timbers.
